The best way to increase your search engine rankings is to create great content. Your web site should be search engine-friendly and optimized properly first, but when that work is finished, go for the gold by working hard to provide your visitors with wonderful content.
So what does this have to do with increasing your search engine results? If people love your web site's content, they will link to you from their web site. When the right people link to your web site from theirs, the search engines essentially place value on that. But it's about the quality of the links, not the quantity.
So one thing a site owner can do is to create Podcast's or audio clips where they talk about their services, industry tips, industry myths, answer frequently asked questions, etc. Wouldn't you rather listen to an audio file on a web site instead of reading the web page?
I'm finding that I'm recommending it to most of my client's right now so that's why I've chosen this subject to write about. I also created a Podcast on the subject which you can find on the left in my Podcasts section on the left of my blog.
